Frequently Asked Questions

The Cougar Cupboard is a student run non-profit organization. It was created by a group of faculty, staff, and the IU Kokomo Enactus team, who saw a need within the campus community for food products. The Cupboard began in the 2014/2015 academic year with just non-perishable food products. As we continue to carry these products, we have added personal hygiene, toiletries, and school supplies.

Who can use the Cougar Cupboard Food Pantry?
Any enrolled IU Kokomo student.
What should I bring to my first visit at the Cougar Cupboard?

You do not have to bring any information to the pick-up locations on your first visit. We do not ask any personal questions about the student(s). We only ask, “Are you a current student at IU Kokomo?”

How much food can a student get at a time?

The amount of food given to students depends upon the student’s needs. The food is given in cloth bags with two days of meals. Normally, we give students one cloth bag. If the students want more than one bag, they can ask for more.

Do I need to show my ID or proof of enrollment to get a donation from the food pantry?

The Cougar Cupboard is available for any IU Kokomo student actively enrolled, as well as, any IU Kokomo faculty or staff members.

Is there a specific time donations are accepted?

We accept donations all year round. If the school and/or Cole Fitness Center is closed, the Cougar Cupboard will not be available for donations and pick-ups. In a scenario the school and/or Cole Fitness Center is planned to be closed, we will post on our Facebook page to keep the students informed.

What if I cannot bring my donation during the operating hours?

We have selected locations on campus with operating hours that would fit many time schedules. If you wish to see the operating hours available, please see the Pickup/ Drop off section for more information. If you cannot bring in a donation during those time frames, feel free to contact and we can schedule a time that is convenient to bring in your donations. We thank you in advance for donating to a great cause.

How do I donate to the Cougar Cupboard?

All donations can be made to the Testing Center, located in the Kelly Student Center Room 250, or Cole Fitness Center, located in the basement of the IU Kokomo campus Library. All times available to donate or pick up can be viewed under the Pick Up/ Drop Off section of the Home tab.
